Ultralight Mineral SPF 25
A lightweight mineral sunscreen with physical and chemical UV filters for broad-spectrum protection against UV radiation and environmental aggressors, without a grey or white cast.
Biological rationale
UV radiation is the main exogenous factor in photoageing and DNA damage of keratinocytes and melanocytes. UVBcauses superficial damage and erythema, while UVA penetrates deeper into the dermis, activating matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and triggering chronic oxidative damage to collagen. Effective photoprotection requires simultaneous coverage of both radiation spectra, which is achieved through a combination of physical and chemical filters.
Mechanism of action
UV-filtering level. Zinc Oxide (6%) is a physical mineral filter that reflects and scatters radiation across the entire UVAand UVB spectrum; it also has additional anti-inflammatory action, making it suitable for sensitive and breakout-prone skin. Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate (Octinoxate, 7%) provides an additional layer of UVB protection at a deeper level.
Antioxidant level. Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract protects against UV-induced DNA damage, enhances UVB protection, and reduces transepidermal water loss. Polygonum Aviculare Extract provides antioxidant protection against infrared radiation. Quercus Suber Bark Extract (suberin) supports the structural network of the dermis, providing a strengthening effect. Vitis Vinifera (Red Grape) Fruit Cell Extract has antioxidant action, helps reduce puffiness, and protects against pollutant exposure.
Exfoliating / moisturising level. Gluconolactone (PHA) supports the natural renewal of surface skin cells. Glycerin, Jojoba Seed Oil, and Squalane help retain moisture.
Clinical profile
Indications: prevention of photoageing, protection against UV-induced DNA damage and oxidative stress, uneven pigmentation, sensitive and breakout-prone skin. Suitable for all skin types and tones, including darker skin tones – the formula does not leave a grey cast.
Visible result
With regular use, the skin is protected against a broad spectrum of UV radiation without a white or grey cast on the surface. The formula spreads easily and works well under makeup without feeling heavy. When applied in sufficient quantity, SPF 25 theoretically blocks around 96% of UVB radiation.
